Update, 10:11 a.m.: according to the Tanjug news agency, five schoolchildren were wounded and one security guard was killed.

Update, 10:08 a.m.:according to the children’s hospital in Tiršova, two boys and one girl are being treated for gunshot wounds. The girl is said to be in bad shape.

BELGRADO, May 3 (Reuters) – A 13-year-old boy opened fire on students and security guards at a Belgrade school on Wednesday, the Tanjug news agency reported, citing police sources. The police confirmed.

The school in question was named Vladislav Ribnika in the Vračar district.

At least two victims were hospitalized, the report said. The motives for the shooting are unclear.

One girl is said to be in critical condition. Two other schoolchildren and a teacher were also reportedly wounded.

According to Serbian media, a security guard was killed. The perpetrator is said to have since been apprehended.

Video footage shows how the suspect is taken away by police.

Presumably, the boy used a firearm belonging to his father.

The motive is unknown.
