De touringcar die zaterdagmorgen een jonge fietster doodreed in Amsterdam was gehuurd door Adult Webmasters die terugkwamen van de Webmasters Acces conferentie en op weg waren naar het Double Tree Hilton hotel. Op een online forum doen ooggetuigen die in de touringcar zaten een gruwelijk ooggetuigenverslag van het ongeval.
Volgens één van de touringcarpassagiers was de touringcarchauffeur boos op een taxichauffeur voor hem, vlak voordat het ongeval gebeurde:
“Driver was mad at some taxi. We laughing when he would go off. Driving like a champ until the right turn. Fucked up”
Gruwelijk genoeg zagen veel inzittenden dat de touringcar de fietster schepte maar duurde het een tijd voordat de chauffeur stopte, ondanks dat er naar de chauffeur werd geschreeuwd om te stoppen:
“The bus hit her and she was dragged to the hotel? Everyone was screaming stop? How long was that time of hitting her and screaming stop until the bus reached the hotel?
– Yes, from the corner where they made contact until about 20 feet from the front door.”
Een andere inzittende bevestigt dat de chauffeur niet wilde stoppen, ondanks geschreeuw van de passagiers. Het slachtoffer zou zeker 100 meter zijn meegesleurd:
“I was in the shuttle bus that hit the girl. We were indeed on our way back from the WA party. As mentioned before we screamed to the busdriver to stop the bus but he kept on going. No idea why but I can also confirm the taxi-story that LeRoy mentioned.
In his defense, the girl was (hit) on the street, not the bicycle lane.I can only hope she died on the first contact because she got dragged for atleast 100 meters, and the bus ran over her..
And to be clear, the girl is dead.. parts all over the place.”
De inzittenden bevestigen de lezing dat de fietster werd geschept toen de touringcar rechtsaf sloeg. De fietster reed toen niet op het fietspad maar op de weg.
Volgens de politie is het slachtoffer een 23-jarige Amerikaanse. Ze woonde tijdelijk in Amsterdam-Noord.
