Small and medium-sized municipalities in Gelderland are struggling to fight crime due to a shortage of manpower and expertise to implement the Bibob Act. This is evident from a roundtable poll conducted by Omroep Gelderland.
This law is seen as an important tool to combat crime, but there are bottlenecks, such as capacity problems and lack of knowledge.
Experts warn that this makes it easier for organized crime to establish itself in smaller municipalities.
