In the night from Saturday to Sunday, unknown people hung up several banners in the center of Ter Apel with messages directed against the asylum seekers’ center in Ter Apel.
They read, among other things, ‘We are more than fed up with the nuisance’, ‘Racism? No! Realism? Yes!” and “Curfew now!” on the banners. One of the banners is signed with “Citizen’s Guard Ter Apel.
Shoplifting
Recently police figures revealed that nowhere in the Netherlands are so many shoplifting incidents per 10,000 inhabitants as in the municipality of Westerwolde, which includes Ter Apel.
This is also evident from research by security guards from COA itself, who also confirmed that shoplifting is not decreasing, despite a series of measures.
