“Amsterdam, as an international financial hub, now serves as a marketplace where the demand for drugs is being determined, and negotiations and payments are being made from all over the world. It has become a destination for drug lords to launder their money or channel it to tax havens. Their money is increasingly contaminating the legal economy, especially in real estate, business services and hospitality. If it continues on this current path, our economy will be inundated with criminal money and violence will reach an all-time high. This leads to social disruption, the deterioration of neighbourhoods, generations of vulnerable young people who will be lured into crime and the undermining of the rule of law. Without a fundamental change of course, the Netherlands is in danger of becoming a narco-state.”
Als zelfs Femke Halsema (GroenLinks), de GroenLinks-burgemeester van GroenLinks-stad Amsterdam, het al zegt in The Guardian, kun je toch wel concluderen dat ‘narcostaat Nederland’ ook echt een narcostaat is. Of de oplossing van Halsema, het (semi-)legaliseren van drugs, ook de juiste oplossing is, is dan weer heel wat anders.

“The truth about Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) has been thrust into the mainstream. As an acronym, it still holds, but not in the way they intend.
In reality, the D stands for the degradation of the standards once upheld at institutions such as Harvard; the E stands for their erasure; and the I stands not only for the indoctrination that follows, but also intimidation.
In a more sophisticated society such as the United States of America, corruption takes a different form. Here, identity politics assumes the role of bloodlines. Preferment is given to “women” or “women of colour”, so long as they follow strictly the progressive party line. But the net result is essentially the same. People without talent are rewarded and promoted. Those who would fare better in a meritocracy are left seething with resentment.
Until that ideology is extirpated not just from one university but from American education as a whole, the mafia of mediocrity will continue to march on — and produce many more Claudine Gays along the way.”
Ayaan Hirsi Ali legt op Unherd aan de hand van de Harvard-soap, die (voorlopig) eindigde met het aftreden van Harvard-baas Claudine Gay, het begrip ‘DEI’ uit. Meer uitleg heb je niet nodig.
“Bij de Europese verkiezingen in juni wordt een ruk naar rechts verwacht, mede omdat burgers de massamigratie zat zijn. Welke acties zou u politici aanraden?
‘Ik zou graag wel eens van hen willen weten: wat is de grote strategie voor het migratiebeleid? Daarover blijft het stil. Er wordt gereageerd op incidenten bij bijvoorbeeld Ter Apel, maar in mijn organisatie moet ik vier à vijf jaar systematisch vooruitdenken. Je moet een idee hebben waar je heen wilt. De rol van techniek wordt steeds belangrijker bij grensbeheer. En hét sluitstuk voor een geloofwaardig asielsysteem is de terugkeer. Daar moet de EU belangrijke stappen zetten, want het sentiment over migratie wordt versterkt door het gevoel dat ook mensen die onze bescherming niet nodig hebben niet terug hoeven. Kersverse Frontex-baas luitenant-generaal Hans Leijtens, oud-commandant der Marechaussee, is als het op migratiebeleid aankomt van zowel de grote strategieën als van het vooruit denken. Jammer genoeg is hij baas van Frontex, en niet van de EU. Hele interview in het Financieel Dagblad.
